Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.
Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The substance had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then located multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state early analysis suggest the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any injuries in association with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior representative said the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
